Almost a year later, when I completely forgot about their annual subscription payment, they shut down access to my account. It took bloody 2 months to upload all those files. So that I will have a one stop cloud storage. I consolidated all my data from my various thumb drives and hard disk drives. I entrusted them and uploaded all my life of data. With iDrive you simply do not know what happens. And that you can restore them from there. With a backup service you must be sure that your files are save in the cloud when disaster strikes. You end up with loads of empty (old) folders on the server. All files that are not on your computer, but are on the server, are deleted from the server. You can make any setting you want but it does not function. Syncing at regular intervals through the day. Second, they have a so-called Continuous Data Protection. Which ones? That's up to you to find out. certain characters in the names of folders and files that prevent proper upload. This has to do with 'incompatible characters', i.e. Only to find out afterwards that many files were actually not uploaded. You can start uploading 200GB, see the progress, see that all goes well, wait for 8 hours and get a notification that your backup succeeded. Despite the product be excellent, the human factor, the technical support - well, there's no such thing at iDrive.Īt first it looks like a reliable backup service. I am starting to research in order to move away from iDrive to another cloud backup provider. No humans here, no kind people here, no helpful guys here. If you think you will find human beings working at iDrive you're fooled. At their chat the same happens, and we're treated like, well, I don't know exactly, but it seems they think they are doing a favor to us. Awful! No education, no kindness, no "friendship" at iDrive - not even the minimum necessary to our daily lives. So they start talking to us, but it seems they don´t know we are customers. The "technicians" helps us, but most of the time only after 1 or 2 days has been passed from the moment we did open the ticket. They seems to consider us, customers, just like mere numbers in his database. The "technicians" don't even says his names. Most of the time it seems we are talking to robots and its canned responses, and not to human beings. iDrive technical support is not only bad. But, unfortunately, one of the main elements when it comes to IT services and solutions are missing here: the human element. The service itself, I mean, the "product", the cloud backup services oferred by iDrive, are excellent. I need to explain why I gave just 1 star to iDrive. Good product and services, but awful human element and technical support
